Adorable owl in a hooded cloak with amber eyes and soft gray feathers among golden autumn tones.
Wool, feather, and two enormous amber eyes. The owl is bundled in a knit hood the color of toasted bread, ear tufts poking through the top, an acorn cradled between the talons at the bottom of the frame. Everything is texture — the rough loops of the knit, the soft barring of the face, the matte cap of the acorn.
Painted in warm autumnal tones: ochre, rust, cocoa, charcoal. The eyes are the only place a brighter color appears, and they should stay the brightest thing on the page. Companion piece to the chipmunk and raccoon in the same series — a colorist working through the set will recognize the lighting and the mood.
