High Contrast Wolf Face
An intense wolf with piercing amber eyes.
Pop art with a wolf underneath. The face is staring straight ahead, painted in shocked slabs of orange, cobalt, navy, cream, and black with no attempt at fur realism. Every plane of the muzzle and ruff has been cut into hard angular shapes that read more like cubist portraiture than wildlife illustration.
Two amber eyes anchor the center. Everything else is pattern. The orange-and-blue complementary palette does most of the heavy lifting, so the colorist's job is mainly committing to the contrast and resisting the urge to soften the edges. There is no gradient work here, only flat color against flat color.
