CharacterSci-Fi

Rusted Mech Warrior

122436485968

Battle-worn sci fi robot with glowing amber eyes in a dark factory full of pipes and cables.

Rust, oxidized copper, and two glowing yellow eyeholes. The mech is shot from below — heavy chest plate, exposed hose work coiling off one shoulder, antennas stalking up from the helmet. The whole armored surface is mottled in patina: teal, ochre, pale aqua, and burnt orange blooming across what used to be steel.

The palette is the work. This isn't about fresh sci-fi chrome; it's about a hundred years of weather on a war machine. The colorist's job is to keep the rust and the copper-green reading as one continuous corroded surface rather than as separate patches.

Industrial backdrop kept dim and out of focus so the figure carries the frame. Best for colorists who like working in restricted, oxidized palettes.
