What does a dragon look like before it learns to be scary? Like this. A small green hatchling perched on a stone with its wings half-spread, wide gold-and-black eyes, soft horn nubs, a yellow-green underbelly running from chin to tail tip. The cave behind it is dark stone with a wedge of teal daylight bleeding in from the upper left.
The wing membranes catch the light and read almost translucent, which is the most interesting rendering challenge in the piece. Otherwise it's a tight green-and-yellow palette with cool stone grays in support.
