Honeybee Macro on a Red Bloom
A detailed honey bee gathers nectar from a red-orange flower.
Fuzz, wing-glint, and a dusting of pollen. The macro frame crops in tight on a single bee burrowed into the yellow center of a deep red-orange bloom — translucent wings overlapping in milky greys, legs splayed across the petals, the whole body softened by tiny halo hairs.
The petals are the unexpected challenge. They take up roughly two-thirds of the page in slabs of red, orange, and shadow, which means the colorist has to keep the flower from upstaging the bee. A piece for people who like a heavy red-and-gold palette and don't mind detailed insect anatomy.
