Lantern-Lit Alley Leading to a Castle
Glowing lanterns light cobblestone streets lined with flower boxes, homes, and a distant castle.
The castle is barely there. It's painted into the haze at the end of the alley as a pale blue silhouette, almost transparent, while every solid line in the picture belongs to the lantern-lit village pressing in from both sides. That distance is the whole composition.
Cobblestones underfoot, leaded windows pouring orange light, ivy spilling from balconies, two iron lanterns hung against deep cool shadow. The dominant palette is teal-night against pumpkin-amber — a tight complementary pairing that does most of the atmospheric work for you. Where you put the warm and where you let the cool win is the entire decision tree.
Good for an evening session with a glass of something. Less good for a quick color.
