Sunlit Forest Creek with Reflections
A sunlit forest creek flows through tall trees and lush greenery.
Start with the water. A slow forest creek carves through the bottom half of the frame, mirroring the trunks and leaves above in long vertical reflections. Sunlight cuts through the canopy in patches; the back of the scene fades into hazy blue ridges.
The greens are the project. Layered ferns, mid-tone canopy, deep shadow under the trunks, lit grasses on the bank, and reflected versions of all of those again in the water — easily six or seven distinct greens before you touch any other color.
Closer in feel to a plein-air painting than a typical Color by Number. Detail-heavy and quiet; better for colorists who want to study a single landscape than for someone wanting variety in one sitting.
