Witch Brewing Green Potion
Terrifying witch with orange eyes, green skin, and ragged clothes stirring a bubbling cauldron.
The light source is the potion. A hag bent over her cauldron, face uplit in radioactive yellow-green from the brew below, eyes glowing the same sick orange as her teeth. Steam curls up around her chin; gnarled hands grip a stirring stick on one side and hover claws-down on the other.
Almost the whole composition is keyed to that bottom-up cauldron light, which means the colorist's main job is gradient management — keeping the green wash strong on the underside of the face and hands and letting it fall off to deep midnight blue at the top of the hat. A genuinely creepy piece with heavy atmospheric mood.
