Three Wise Men on Camels

One of the kings has spotted the star. His arm is up, finger pointing past the edge of the frame, and the other two riders are still settling on their camels — one bearded and white-robed, one in red and white behind him, a third figure barely visible at the back. The desert behind them folds into long blue shadows under a near-black sky.

The palette is split sharply between cool night (deep blues and purples in the sky and dunes) and warm robes (cream, ochre, brick red, bronze). The camels do the transition work, their tan hides catching both temperatures. A narrative piece rather than a decorative one — the figures are the focus, the desert is just the room they're standing in.
