Star-Spangled Banner Waving over the Ramparts

This is a flag mid-disintegration, not a flag at parade rest. The thirteen-star Betsy Ross design flies from a tall pole against a fevered orange-and-purple sunset sky, with the trailing edge frayed into long ragged tatters that whip across the right half of the frame.

Dark fortress silhouettes sit along the bottom — turret, walls, a watchtower — placing the scene somewhere between Fort McHenry and a movie set. Painterly clouds, layered cloth shadows, lots of warm sunset bleeding into the white stripes.

Procreate swatches included. The sky and the cloth share a palette, which is the design's whole point — let them bleed into each other.
