Vintage Typewriter on a Library Desk

Old paper, lamp oil, leather. A dim study with bookshelves rising into shadow, a wall map curling at the edges, an antique typewriter waiting on a heavy wooden desk, and one warm pool of light spilling across an open page.

Almost everything in this piece is brown — burnt umber, sepia, walnut, oxblood — with the lamp glow as the only real warm light source. The challenge isn't picking colors; it's separating the values so the bookshelves don't blur into the wall and the typewriter doesn't blur into the desk.
