Start with the skull face. The painted features — black sockets ringed in yellow, a black nose triangle, a stitched mouth line — are the visual core, and every other choice flows out from there.

Around them, the design layers carnival ornament onto graveyard imagery: a tall hat lined with five small skulls, purple and green plumes rising behind it, a yellow zigzag band, a wrought-iron cemetery fence in silhouette behind the shoulders. The collar and bow tie pick up Mardi Gras green and gold to seal the connection.

The palette is fixed — purple, green, yellow, bone white, deep brown — but how you weight them is open. Push the green and you get something cemetery-cold; push the yellow and gold and the carnival side wins.
